'Friday Night Live!' Concerts Are a Hit on Herndon Green The Herndon Chamber of Commerce's summer outdoor concert series "Friday Night Live!" has surpassed organizer's expectations, with more than 600 people attending the first show. Doug Downer, president of the Chamber of Commerce, said the series had begun radio advertisements and predicted that attendance would increase. Last week's concert was rained out , but will be rescheduled for probably the middle of August. The series is sponsored by Nissan and other local businesses, including many restaurants. Admission to the concerts is free, and each week two different restaurants provide food for the concerts. The concerts include many popular Washington, D.C., area bands and are geared toward a younger crowd of between 20 and 35 years of age. The concerts are held each Friday evening from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on the Town Green. The remaining schedule is: |
