For Immediate Release: June 20, 2003 July 4th Friday Night Live! to Feature Extended Concert and Fireworks Herndon, VA. Independence Day 2003 is a Friday and in Herndon, Virginia, the popular Friday Night Live! concert series will go on with a Bang! Friday Night Live!, downtown Herndon's free weekly summer concert series, will be booming on Friday July 4, 2003. Starting this year the Town of Herndon Fireworks display, formerly held at Herndon High School, will be launched from the golf course right over downtown Herndon. "To have July 4th fall on a Friday the first year the fireworks are held downtown should make for a great Independence Day celebration," said Doug Downer, Friday Night Live! Chairman. Friday Night Live! will feature two live bands, five different food vendors and beer and wine sales. The concert starts at 6:30PM and will run until 11PM. Lynn Street in front of the Municipal Center will be closed to make room for the expected crowd. The Herndon Town Green has ample space to spread out a blanket or set up chairs. Bands being featured at the celebration will be d205 opening for The Electric Company. The bands will pause during the fireworks, which will be choreographed to music. Friday Night Live! is a free outdoor concert series held on the Town Green in Herndon every Friday night from May through August. Food is sold by Domino's, Hard Times Café, Euro Bistro, Dairy Queen and popcorn by the HHS Girls Softball program.
